This book is more than just a fascinating biographical account, weaving in rich anthropological details of those who have acted as gurus in creating important milestones on this path. It is also about deep epistemic shifts in faith that, if the author is followed, have relevance more widely to those living in the Western world, often forgetful of its own complicity in oppression, injustice, and colonial domination. It is, in other words, the birth of a new era, a Pneumatolocene. Such a shift is brought to light more pointedly for a Western audience in the account of specific homeless people living in Oxford described in the final chapter of this intriguing book. — Celia Deane-Drummond (Senior Research Fellow in Theology, Campion Hall; Director of the Laudato Si’ Research Institute, Campion Hall; Visiting Professor in Theology & Science, CCS, Durham University)

As a member of an ecclesia discens (a learning church) of Asia, this corpus is a personal testimony of the burning passion and freedom of heart of my fellow Jesuit companion to sit at the feet of our Asian gurus of the primal religion, Máoshān Daoism, Kejawèn Decaloris, and the homeless. This is certainly an engaging autobiography of an Asian sojourn of interculturality, sustained under the aegis of Rûah Elohim, embodying a “polyhedral” faith that discerningly imbibes the rich treasures of wisdom in these diverse sapiential oases in Asia. — Enrico C. Eusebio, Jr., SJ, JCD (President, Loyola School of Theology)
