Manuel Ruiz Jurado, S.J., “Saint Teresa and the Jesuits,” is an English translation (by Antonio Maldonado Correa, S.J.) of “Santa Teresa y los Jesuitas” which the author wrote for the Jesuit spirituality journal Manresa 87 (2015) issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Carmelite saint’s birth. The author discusses the efforts of Jesuits—Frs. Diego de Cetina, Juan de Prádanos, Baltasar Álvarez, and others—in nurturing the spiritual life of St. Teresa of Avila as well as the points of convergence between the charism of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the Teresian Carmelite spirituality. – from the Editor’s Preface
