Reynaldo D. Raluto (“The Intersection of Historical Injustices and Ecological Destruction in Asia: Enriching Catholic Social Teaching on Indigenous Peoples”) explains the close link between the historical injustices suffered by indigenous peoples (IPs) and the destruction of their habitat. Unfortunately, while their sad plight calls her to protect them and the ecosystem that supports them, the Church has not sufficiently addressed the problems of indigenous peoples in both her teaching and pastoral work. Raluto therefore says that it “is a moral imperative for Christians to bring the issues of disenfranchised IPs to the mainstream of public discussion” (p. 129). Hence, to enrich the scope and praxis of Catholic social teaching on IPs, Raluto recommends 1) defense of their human rights, 2) liberative evangelization of their cultures, 3) reparation for the historical injustices committed against them, 4) appropriation of their ecological worldview, and 5) recognition of the value of the ecofeminist perspective. – from the Editor’s Preface
