The spirituality of leadership is a much-discussed theme today because of the recent emergence of leadership as a field of academic and professional interest. Theoretical studies and training programs do not only center on what knowledge and skills a leader needs but also on what kind of inner disposition is required of those in leadership roles. Karel San Juan’s essay answers this question using Bernard Lonergan’s thought. It explicitates the spirituality of leadership on the basis of Lonergan’s understanding of the human person as transcendence.
