Fr. Francis Gustilo, S.D.B.—who is only the third Filipino to serve on the International Theological Commission, the first being Fr. Arévalo, and the second, then Fr. Luis Antonio G. Tagle (now Cardinal Archbishop of Manila and also a contributor to this Festschrift)—offers a brief study of Benedict XVI’s thought regarding consecrated life. This is a fitting tribute to Fr. Arévalo who has not only lived faithfully as a religious since 1941, but has also lectured extensively on Benedict XVI’s thought, and has worked in service of the Church with fellow religious both here and abroad, among them Fr. Gustilo himself. – from the Editor’s Preface
