The Pandemic Issue

Editorial work exchanged hands due to trying circumstances. The COVID-19 pandemic made meetups difficult. So TL was solely entrusted to the Society of St Paul whose editorial team (comprising LST students) gamely spearheaded the publication.

The LST community celebrates with the Filipino Church 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines, from the arrival of Ferdinand Magellan in 1519. LST professors and students share how the COVID-19 pandemic had led to massive changes in the modes of teaching and learning. Contributors discussed core ecclesial and theological issues within the experiences of the pandemic and lockdown, particularly the Eucharist, and understanding of God’s grace. Finally, we look at the history of evangelization, especially from the local church context, and missionary perspectives from different religious orders.
