Christ is Alive! Young People as the ‘Now’ of God
What does it mean to be alive in Christ who is alive? We place the spotlight on our dear young people whom Pope Francis considers “the now of God.” Yes, the youth are the future, but they are at the same time the present. They influence impact, and enrich the Church and the world Today. Their views are filled with conviction, their questions strikingly real, and their experiences arresting and fresh. It is thus necessary, as the beloved disciple did toward Jesus, to draw close to the heart of the youth – of every young person, in fact – and to pay attention to all its joys and hurts, desires and longings, values and dreams. Only then can we genuinely begin to accompany young people toward being fully alive, as Christ ever so desires and enjoins us to do.
